- LAG? We only offer a live arrival guarantee on feeder orders shipped 2nd day and next day air.
- HATCH RATE? Hatch rate varies from customer to customer depending on experience, climate, and other factors. Because we have no control over what happens after feeders arrive, we are not able to offer any sort of "hatch rate guarantee".
- Spider food is sold by weight and the count can vary due to size variations. All counts are approximate. We do not guarantee the exact count of live food. We regularly adjust the weight of live food based on seasonal variations, and try our best to get an accurate approximate count.

Basic Instructions for Hatching Blue Bottle Larvae
-
Prepare a Hatching Container
- Use a well-ventilated container with a lid to prevent escape.
- Add a moisture-retaining filler like coco fiber, sphagnum moss, or the included filler to maintain humidity.
-
Maintain Proper Humidity
- Lightly mist the filler with water to keep it damp, but not soaking wet.
- Higher humidity helps speed up the hatching process.
-
Temperature Requirements
- Keep the container in a warm area, ideally between 75–85°F (24–29°C).
- Avoid direct sunlight or extreme temperature changes.
-
Time to Hatch
- Under ideal conditions, larvae will pupate and hatch into flies within 7–14 days.
- Higher humidity and warmth can speed up the process, while cooler, drier conditions may slow it down.
-
Feeding Newly Hatched Flies
- Once hatched, provide a food source like sugar water, fruit, or Repashy Superload to keep the flies active and healthy.
-
Troubleshooting
- Too slow? Increase warmth and humidity.
- Too dry? Lightly mist the filler to maintain moisture.
- Not hatching? Give them more time and check environmental conditions.
